I believe you are confusing Israel‘s Samson Option and its Hannibal Directive. The Hannibal Directive is the IDF policy of killing their own soldiers to avoid them being taken hostage. The Samson Option is Israeli’s threat to use its nukes to take everyone else (including European allies) down with them, if they‘re about to be defeated.
