Let me just be clear about this, especially to the people who say The Constitution doesn't matter anymore:

The American Government is one of the people. For the people. And if you think horrific things about it, the fault lies ULTIMATELY with YOU. Because you did nothing to change it. You are just an arm chair in the corner, crying because no one sits on you.

Because you are inept, lack all integrity, and only point fingers. If you love America, and if you love Freedom and Independence, you will vote for Biden and Democrats. Time over time, again and again, in modern times, Democrats have upheld the constitution and have worked for the people in America.

Republicans CANNOT SAY THIS. Everyone knows to look at the words, not the actions. Well, today we look at the words AND the actions - and republicans only lie, cheat, steal, and DESTROY. They have NEVER delivered ANY VALUE to America, after Eisenhower.

Everything they do is to enrich themselves and their businesses. And make regular Americans PAY FOR THEIR LIFESTYLES. Republicans are the modern day Nazis. Let's not forget that trump delivered the iron dome defense intel to Russia to kick off the Israeli war in Gaza.

Republicans are ENEMIES OF AMERICA, and they will be removed. And destroyed.

@Cory (or is that Kill Republicans?)

Once again, if you are going to run a stable of personae in some kind of attempt at influence/persuasion, you need to invest at least a LITTLE effort.

Thanks for the comment. But I'm confused. How is this relevant to the piece?

@Garth Mando

Fascism appealed to plenty of important/wealthy people in USA well before the agency picked up the 3rd Reich's tool kit- See Smedley Butler and the offer he received to be their front man after a planned "regime change" operation against FDR.

Forty nine years, three months, and five days ago the United States Senate authorized the creation of the Church Committee by a vote of 87 to 4 to investigate abuses by the CIA, FBI, NSA and the IRS carried out against American citizens. Can you imagine the current Senate doing the same?

The revelations of the Church Committee were eye-popping. However the reforms instigated were surely ignored clandestinely and now, are openly flouted.

The vectors for abuse of our rights are far more numerous than that quaint time fifty years ago. Your phone and computer in conjunction with data shared with large corporations are a gift that our tax-paid-for three letter agencies gorge upon at whim. But that is not all. There is a far greater reliance on Swat teams using no-knock warrants to violate our physical homes.

My personal feeling is that our body politic lacks both the courage and motivation to curtail the operations of these three letter agencies. The best part of our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, has been trashed. Whatever can fix or address those problems will be far in the future or the side effect of either collapse or natural disaster.

The Constitution has long been a dead letter. Just say the magic words "Muh National Security abracadabra!" and poof! The Bill Of Rights disappears.

This is because law is meaningless. Enforcement is the only thing that matters, and the CIA has put itself beyond any enforcement.

With that in mind, the culture of the CIA has nothing to do with Columbus or Indoeuopean tribes. Rather, it is what inevitably happens when you give any group of humans power with no accountability. Rights but no responsibilities. Law but only enforced against enemies and only when and as the group desires.

"It works the same in any country." -H. Goering.
