We need to engage in a battle for our lives and those of our descendants. Our opponent is corporate capitalism.
Corporate capitalism has deflected our right to redress grievances against corporate misconduct with a jury trial to that of arbitration. Corporate capitalism has evaded providing cheap robust armaments to protect our borders from invasion by bribing our politicians and military to accept grossly expensive and horribly ineffective weapons systems. Corporate capitalism is ravaging our topsoil, depleting our aquifers and soiling the environment in which we dwell for the sake of 'returns'. Corporate capitalism is turning our country into an international pariah that inflicts vast suffering on industrial scales.
Let's get together with our friends and neighbors, gather fortitude and strength and repel the demons that torment us.
True to all that. As to repelling the demons, that's already happening, misled by Republicans for wicked ends. Too bad 'our' side doesn't allow rebellious leaders.
speaking of financializing solar, there’s a program that everyone needs to stay away from, called PACE for Property Assessed Clean Energy Financing. Private companies get to sell these instruments door-to-door (high pressure, we’ve listened once b/c gathering intel), for solar or windows, anything that qualifies for “clean energy.” PACE is a lien against a your house, and prioritized payback—but it gets worse. the lien is actually held at the local Tax Assessor and payments attached to your municipal taxes which becomes a hidden cost when selling the home and thereby a huge liability b/c no one wants a house with double the taxes.
Hard to see any of these whizbang financialization rackets surviving the fall of the West. Probably more accurate to say they're accelerating the collapse.
