There was never any such thing as "Russia’s aspirations for peaceful and mutually respectful integration of Russia and the West." Jeffrey Sachs conveniently overlooks all crimes communists like Putin committed, and the need to remove the perpetuators of such crimes from all political positions, something that Poland did, but Russia never did. He naively hoped that giving a large amount of money to the criminals would solve everything for the best.

Do you agree that Russia is generally a mafia state? How would the west be able to negotiate with a corrupt counterparty?

Thanks, Mark. Probably the same way they negotiate with every other corrupt counterparty in the world. After all, the world is mainly ruled by the corrupt, right? My thought anyway.
