It’s helpful to view the US as the head which holds the sockets of Five Eyes countries: UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and US. Pre-emptive arrest might not be a think in the US, but it is in UK and soon Canada.
Last year the UK arrested 3000 ppl for social media posts. Canada is following suit with the Online Harms Act, cloaked as “protecting children,” the bill features life in prison for thought crime, erm social media posting. It’s not passed yet, but chances are some parts of it will make it to law.
It seems to me that US offshores the worst civil rights-abusing proposals to Five Eyes countries that don’t have originating documents such as our Bill of Rights. Those civil rights-abusing proposals get “beta tested” and are brought back here once the bugs are ironed out.
Re the quoted story by Wendi Strauch Mahoney: I wouldn't have used the word "enrolled" for how Tulsi Gabbard got on this list. And really, there are two bomb-sniffing dogs on each of her flights? They must be conspicuous, and unsettling to the passengers.
But, not to quibble over Thomas' important story. The recent five-year jail terms for the non-violent climate protestors in Britain is also part of the pattern that, as we now see thanks to this story, is creeping up into pre-crime. This indeed is the élites' preparation for the mass unrest that will mount as people realize that the climate will do us all in. How wicked that they do this rather than address the real problem (which even at this near-terminal stage still has solutions). It's small consolation that the guilty élites will suffer as much as any of us, though they think they can shield themselves in New Zealand bunkers.
How to halt and roll back this mass surveillance and thought-policing? Let's come up with some ideas to seize the initiative.

Fine observations, Brook. What's happening abroad is scary. How does Canada turn so right? Any idea if this stuff came up at Davos?

You can include the FBI raid on Scott Ritter, part of a harrassment program targeting critics of US policies in Ukraine and Israel.
That sounds right, JL. Why this sudden uptick, though?

enjoy the time off
Thanks, Mark. Looking forward to it.

But remember, when it's a Team D administration, then that makes it okay!
Is pre-emptive arrest a backhanded way to reducing air pollution by placing most of us on a do-not-fly list?
No. But I have to hope. When the only probable solution to climate warming is WW III's nuclear exchange, then any other method is hopeful.
