Briefly:

I have several times seen the comparison of Earth’s energy imbalance (EEI) to 'Hiroshima Bomb' units. And my blood runs cold.

Yes, the number of Joules in the daily EEI is now greater than the number of Joules produces by 400,000 Hiroshima nukes. But that grossly, dangerously understates the apocalyptic impact of nuclear weapons. There can be no comparison between dropping 400,000 nukes and just another day of Global Warming. I must go further: It dishonors the hibakusha, the survivorss who have been trying to teach us, to show us this for 78 years.

I find more shock value in this honest comparison: Consider all the energy generated by burning coal, oil, methane, and biomass in a day. The energy absorbed by the ocean in a day is now about 150 times as much. And every day that we keep burning those fuels, that ratio increases.

If tomorrow the whole world stopped burning things for energy, the ocean would keep on absorbing 150 times what we burned yesterday. Unfortunately tomorrow we will burn more than we did today.

There is a political solution. I'm hammering on details. Welcome feedback.
