I am guilty of sarcasm and frank anger at what’s happening to our country, driven by Trump and MAGA. I need to spin off the stress, so no apology. Humor is our greatest weapon when confronting totalitarianism in all its forms, now ever more obvious in Trump’s corruption central, which any damn fool can plainly see. Personally, I’m a humble little old man who just turned 80 and has no respect for any of Trump’s sycophants. For a people putatively existing in a stable democracy, why the plethora of guns and ammunition of which a minority are suitable for hunting? Well at least some are prepared for the Sub Saharan style of feuding warlords that might take over regions of our country.
I can't answer these questions of why we are so damn evil. But I can affirm that evil we are.
I do think that eschewing the sordid facts of our history and embellishing our exceptionalism has not helped matters. We need to own the violence.
