There is simply too little fresh water to do a Herculean clean-up of our government.

In a hat tip to Grover Norquist may our government drown in backed up sewage due to ignoring infrastructure investment and maintenance. Drowning these double dippers in effluent is poetic justice.

"Current today" for sure, Tom. I DIDN'T understand that stricter sense of corruption, as not necessarily involving handing over of coin. But now plain old "what's it worth to you" style is such an entrenched industry that the money-grubbers scarcely try to hide it. I certainly see your point about the need for "radical change." How do we even make a dent when what we're up against is that united wall of moneypeople who can spend-to-death any challenge to their ownership of, well, everything. And now they have an overwhelming ownership stake in the law.

I think the answer, sadly, is "a river runs through it." I.e., something to wash it all away. Sadly again, I think that something is on the way. Climate.
