The two issues the dem voters are most opposed to: the war in Gaza and the transgender lobby's agenda. (can't say the T word without being censored in many comments sections; so much for "free speech"). So the Dems let AIPAC choose and fund who runs for office and lets the Transgender lobby destroy women's rights and safety. How could we vote for that!?

1. "Note that in the U.S., the masses can’t literally be Democrats or Republicans, however they fancy themselves. They’re bystanders when it comes to deciding; they have no say. They’re asked to vote when the party decides who will run, and only rarely get candidates they themselves choose. Sorry to add this, but primaries really don’t matter. Sanders in 2020 is an excellent example; the Party picked against Sanders, and Sanders was out. Trump in 2016 is the rare counter-example."

The difference between Team R and Team D in 2016 was that Team R did what they could to keep Trump out, even canceling primaries in states Trump was likely to win and trying to convince Trump delegates to switch sides. However, Team R could not unite their efforts behind a single non-Trump candidate (was it Rubio? Cruz? Kasich? Jeb!? some other halfwit?) and because, unlike Team D, Team R could not count ont he national media to carry their water.

2. Another view is "sociopaths/clueless/losers", as expounded on in the corporate context by Ventakesh Rao.
