Most people believe that the "incident" below in which Israel deliberately slaughtered or injured over 200 Americans was staged by Israel to coerce the U.S. into joining it's war against Egypt. Presently, many Americans believe that Israel has successfully precipitated the U.S. into it's war against Iran. Almost 60 years ago, on June 8, 1967, during the Six-Day War, Israeli aircraft bombed and attacked with torpedoes the U.S. Navy ship USS Liberty in international waters off the Sinai Peninsula. The Israelis killed 34 Americans and wounded 171. Israel claimed they thought the ship was Egyptian. The U.S. went along with this, though survivors disputed it. The incident occurred on the fourth day of the Six-Day War as the Liberty was monitoring radio traffic in the Mediterranean.

The Israeli jets first attacked with rockets and napalm. Then they followed up with attacks by torpedo boats, causing the ship severe damage. The attacks lasted for two hours killing and wounding many U.S. sailors, and heavily damaging the ship. Despite being clearly marked with US markings and flying an American flag, Israeli forces claimed they didn't realize it was American, but crew members and officials said the attack was deliberate, citing the intensity of the assault and the jamming of the ship's communications so they couldn't get help or witnesses.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Nukes won't reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Period. The closure is a check mate for Trump. Nukes won't stop the collapse of the US Empire or the economy.
