From Caitlin Johnstone Newsletter 'The Plutocrats Who Rule Our World Aren't Even Enjoying Themselves.' She quoted two of my favorite writers Vonnegut and Heller: As Kurt Vonnegut wrote in his poem “Joe Heller”:

True story, Word of Honor:

Joseph Heller, an important and funny writer

now dead,

and I were at a party given by a billionaire

on Shelter Island.

I said, “Joe, how does it make you feel

to know that our host only yesterday

may have made more money

than your novel ‘Catch-22’

has earned in its entire history?”

And Joe said, “I’ve got something he can never have.”

And I said, “What on earth could that be, Joe?”

And Joe said, “The knowledge that I’ve got enough.”

Not bad! Rest in peace!

From her piece: "The Elon Musk's of our world can never have the experience of having enough. They exist in a permanent state of lack. They’ve got a giant hole inside themselves that can never be filled, no matter how much money they throw into it, no matter how many private jets and private islands and media outlets and bought politicians they try to fill it with."

From the conclusion of your piece: "Who Can Predict the Future?" My answer is this:

Any and all with imagination, children most certainly, and on a daily experience, I hear them where I work at an elementary school, what a joyful noise they make when at play, imagining all those worlds they are creating. And it's from this I make my prediction:

These people who "...never have the experience of having enough..." as Caitlin writes, will go the way of the dinosaurs who became extinct as will these gutter-snipes who "rule" this world. In certainty, they do NOT rule this world because it is ruled by those "dreamers" little children creating worlds that never before existed (I can hardly type what with the tears falling from my eyes, from my heart and soul- I am after all 'a spy of God,' metaphorically speaking) but exist in their imaginations which now exist in a very real sense.

As for these "...people who control our society are whipped about by primitive forces within themselves that they don’t understand..." (again, Caitlin's words) they will roam the underworld as 'Hungry Ghosts' from 'The Tibetan Book of the Dead' knowing nothing but hunger which cannot be quenched. I actually feel sorry for them in a sense. They will not destroy that which they cannot understand! Again, that is my prediction.

Thomas, have a wonderful day wherever you are. And thank you for your work which one day I will hopefully be able to support as my financial wellbeing is changing dramatically very soon.

Such a crock.... where were you, Thomas, and everyone parroting your narrative when Biden's handlers were letting dozens of millions of unvetted far and middle easterners into this country... now that the pendulum has swung the other way, and the MAGA crowd, of which I- a proud Mex-American- am a member, you have the audacity to try to make the MAGA movement into something which it is not. ICE under Trump is not the same Deep State apparatus that it was under Biden, when it was perverted into foot servants for over a hundred million illegals. Now that Venezuela's head has been chopped off, it wont be easy to steal anymore elections in the U.S., and this is one of the reasons where your bretheren in the Democrat party are panicking. I am waiting for another few weeks for the full impact of the Epstein emails to fully sink into the national psyche-- your political days are numbered-- even the useful idiot base of the Democrat Party will have their day of reckoning when they (you) realize that they have been used all this time to promote a Satanic, depopulation agenda.

Some years ago, wasn’t some group, maybe the Heritage Foundation, calling for a constitutional convention, for a complete review? Fortunately that did not catch on at the time, because the HF would have rolled right over the Democrats as we have since come to know them. But maybe this is an appropriate - if not critically necessary - time for such an effort.

You're right. And it's still true. The Koch network would love one, especially today.

The Democrats I know do NOT want to hear this.

Same here, Nate. Getting a lot of pushback from that quarter. I think it's a tell.

Pat Buchanan, of all people, correctly pointed out that the United States can be a republic or an empire, because an empire cannot allow itself to be constrained by any law or it surely will fall.

Thomas Neuburger's avatar

Interesting. In the view of many, the US was an empire already when Buchanan wrote that.

And yes, he's right. The ancient model is Athens.

Trump is simply the empire dropping any remaining pretense of being anything other than an empire.
