Thugs and sadists occur in every society, every population. Thuggishness and sadism probably lurk somewhere in each of us. But to recruit thugs and sadists, to organize them, to arm them, to give them the imprimatur of law, and to set them loose on a civilian population is perhaps the most evil thing a leader of government can do.
A refugee who fled Liberia at the age of 6 who appears to have only a decade-old expunged marijuana conviction and was granted permission to remain in the U.S. back in 2009 is “the worst of the worst” meriting a “no-knock” door-smash entry? Then the DHS makes unsubtantiated claims to the media about a “lengthy criminal history” but apparently can’t substantiate this in a court of law before a judge who might hold them in contempt or refer them for perjury charges for lying?
If it walks like a Black Site, and it quacks like a Black Site, it’s a Black Site. I’m not necessarily opposed to deporting economic migrants who are abusing the system but there is no reason to treat them inhumanely. The sick, depraved conduct of these masked thugs is Abu Ghraib coming home to roost…
A "New York Times - Sienna" poll published a few days ago shows that Trump has to me, a disturbing level of support. Yes, it's a minority of us, but an empowered one through structural maneuvers enabled by the existence of the Senate, congressional redistricting and the Electoral College.
There is no middle ground here. We who find the behavior of this government unconscionable must form our own state. It's time to leave.
The Right has been empowering that minority since Nixon and Richard Viguerie. This is one long, enabled thread. (Does anyone remember it was Clinton who enabled the expansion of Murdock's media empire?)
